We talked about sound and space. This is an example of a “haunted house” with a twist. notice how sound helps put you in the place.

hey guys! lily here. I wanted to share this film with all of you. it’s called KONY 2012 by invisible children (kony2012.com or invisiblechildren.com)

it’s a half hour long, but I guarentee it will be worth it. it’s one of over a dozen films from the non—profit charityinvisible children, which I’ve worked with and strongly supported for a full year now. I even raised over $5,000 for them last fall!

invisible children bases most or all of their awareness-spreading on technology, which is why they have so many films. it was started by three young filmmakers and has evolved into a huge charity that uses the power of film to bring justice to war-afflicted regions in central africa where a rebel army is abducting and killing tens of thousands of kids.

not only is this short film inspiring and empowering, but it also uses a ton of really cool film techniques, including some stuff we’ve learned about (i.e. panning, focus shifts, more) and some more advanced stuff.

overall, it plays out really well on screen and I really, really hope you guys can take a half hour out of your day to watch it sometime soon! if you’re really inspired and wanna know more, talk to me and I’ll let you know what you can do to help!
